Description

As we strive to have students career and college ready, math instruction is changing to support this goal. In this workshop we will touch on topics that are currently paving the way to shift from a traditional math classroom to one that builds number sense, fluency, and allows for student discovery through inquiry-based learning. We will examine how to establish a safe environment that enables students to feel comfortable with problem solving. We will look at how to find the balance of rigor in our instruction. Materials that can be used to differentiate instruction in the math classroom will be presented.

When all requirements are met for completion of this workshop, participants will receive 25 to 30 professional development hours.
